The NWAPA Loves the All-New 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Given that the pickup's been billed by Jeep as the "most capable mid-size truck ever," we can see why. That it just earned the title of 2019 Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year, though, tells us that our brand is more than onto something.

At a grueling, fun-and-adventure-filled, two-day "Mudfest" at the famous Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA, the Northwest Automotive Press Association tested 22 vehicles from 14 different manufacturers, on both paved and off-road courses. Among them was 2020 Gladiator. At the end of the day (days, really), the all-new Jeep pickup took top honors in two more categories, too: Truck and Extreme Capability. This was the first time that a single vehicle, let alone a mid-size pickup, took home accolades in all three.

How did a Jeep truck pull off such a feat? In the above-mentioned gladiatorial combat, to be sure. The body's 25-plus-judge panel of automotive journalists gave the final thumbs up, but it was NWAPA President John Vincent who might have put it best, by way of U.S. News & World Report: the new Gladiator offered an "exceptionally functional blend of SUV and pickup attributes that northwest consumers crave."

Our Tasca family can think of a few reasons to love it too. For one, Jeep Gladiator has the winning combo of rugged construction, versatile functionality, utility, and above all, open-air excitement that's unbeatable for Rhode Island orienteers. That owes to all Gladiator trims coming Trail Rated, meaning ahead of the pack when it comes to traction and maneuverability in diverse conditions, articulation, fording bodies of water, and the ground clearance for avoiding obstacles. Factor in three different powertrains, a ton of flexible cargo storage options, and best-in-class tow and payload ratings with a proven crag-crawling 4x4 system like Rock-Trac. Suddenly, shouldering the weight of a couple of weekend toys, like a pair of dirt bikes, an ATV, or a fishing boat, doesn't seem so far-fetched.

There's a lot more to 2020 Jeep Gladiator than the experts and we're letting on, too. If you'd like to learn more, give our Hartford Ave showroom a call or drop in and take a look for yourself. We'll be glad to put you on the books for a test drive sure to show you what a new Jeep can mean for your adventures!
